the concepts of director

director uses the analogy of a stage with a cast of actors that do something in time

concepts:
basic : a stage with a cast of actors that do something according to the score*. actors can have properties, like a standard behavior or just a specific behavior on the stage.
specific : the cast can be anything - vector graphics, gif animations, files from photoshop, illustrator, a sound program, flash movies, quicktime, windows media, realmedia, avi, dvd, shockwave 3d, true type fonts. anything goes, actually.
the stage is your computer screen. it has a height and a width and a background color. you put one or more copies of a cast member on the stage.
the score* tells the cast member to do something at a specific time using animation techniques with keyframing, with standard behavior or with self made programming scripts in lingo. lingo looks a lot like javascript or flash actionscript.
target : a web site: you need small (heavily compressed) files that can be downloaded quickly,
a cdrom: you need big, uncompressed files to get the most speed.
director can save your projects for both audiences.
